Establishment of an ophthalmology department at the Regional Hospital in Kasserine

In support of state efforts, and under the supervision of the Ministry of Health, in cooperation with its staff and the local and regional authorities in Kasserine Governorate, this humanitarian solidarity project was established, consisting of setting up an ophthalmology department at the Regional Hospital in Kasserine, with support and funding from the Kuwaiti Al-Najat Charity Association, and implementation by the Olive Branch Network of Development Associations.

This department will provide eye surgery services within the university ophthalmology department at Badreddine El Alaoui Regional Hospital in Kasserine, which was inaugurated with a rate of about 10 surgical operations per day. Medical interventions include lens implants, laser treatment, and cataract removal, benefiting eye patients in Kasserine and the surrounding areas.

According to Ziad Hamdi, official spokesperson for the Olive Branch Network of Development Associations in Sfax, a second operating room is currently under study, and all parties involved will work to complete it, which will help increase the number of surgical operations.
