Establishment of the ophthalmology department at the regional hospital in Kasserine

In support of the state’s efforts, and under the supervision of the Ministry of Health, and in cooperation with its staff and local and regional authorities in Kasserine, this humanitarian solidarity project was established. It involves the creation of an ophthalmology department at the Kasserine Regional Hospital, with support and funding from the Kuwaiti Al-Najat Charity Association and implemented by the Ghosn Al-Zaytoun Network for Development Associations. This department will provide eye surgery within the university ophthalmology department at the Badr Eddine Al-Alawi Regional Hospital in Kasserine, which was inaugurated with approximately 10 surgeries per day. The medical interventions include lens implantation, laser treatment, and cataract removal for eye patients in Kasserine and the surrounding areas. The second operating room is currently under study, and all stakeholders will work to complete it, which will contribute to increasing the number of surgeries, according to Ziad Hamdi, the official spokesperson for the Ghosn Al-Zaytoun Network for Development Associations in Sfax.
