The network delivered seven new sources of livelihood to “small-scale fishermen” in the Sfax region.

On Tuesday, November 26, 2024, seven projects were distributed to provide sources of livelihood for small-scale fishermen in the Sfax region, under the supervision of the local and regional authorities and the Directorate of Social Affairs in the region.

This important economic event was attended by the acting Delegate of El Mahres delegation, representing Thyna delegation, the mayors of Thyna and Gargour, and a representative of the Social Affairs Department in Agareb delegation. Five beneficiaries from Thyna and two beneficiaries from Agareb benefited from these development projects.

These projects are part of the ongoing efforts to support state initiatives and further strengthen economic empowerment, which aims to increase individuals’ ability to control their lives and achieve their goals by providing opportunities to earn a livelihood. The economic empowerment process for these beneficiaries involves increasing their capacity and control over basic economic and financial resources, helping them move from a less stable economic situation to a more solid and stable economic foundation, thereby granting them, first and foremost, their financial independence.
