The network is organizing a medical convoy to perform cataract removal surgeries for low-income eye patients in the Kasserine region.
On Saturday, cataract surgeries were performed on 31 patients over the age of 60, who benefit from free or low coverage, at the Badr Eddine Aloui University Hospital in Kasserine, according to what was confirmed by the Regional Director of Health, Dr. Abdelghani Chaabani.
In a statement to a Jawhara FM correspondent in the region, Chaabani explained that “this initiative was carried out under the supervision of the Ministry of Health and in coordination with the Regional Health Directorate in Kasserine and the University Hospital, as well as in coordination with the ‘Olive Branch’ Association, and with funding from a Kuwaiti charity.” Chaabani noted that “most of the medical and paramedical staff who oversaw these operations were from the Kasserine University Hospital, with support from two doctors from the Hedi Rais University Hospital in Tunis.”
